Your new Zirconia bridge and titanium implants cannot develop cavities. However, the living gum tissue and bone holding the six implants are highly susceptible to destructive bacterial infections (peri-implantitis) if you do not keep them meticulously clean.

With six implants, there are more “pillars” under the bridge where food particles and plaque can become trapped. Proper maintenance is non-negotiable for success:

• The Water Flosser (Waterpik): This is your most important tool. You must use a water flosser twice a day, aiming the stream between the gum line and the bottom of the bridge to flush out trapped debris.
• Specialized Floss Threaders: Once a day, use a rigid threader to pull spongy “superfloss” underneath the bridge, wrapping it around each of the six titanium posts to wipe away sticky bacterial plaque.
• Routine Professional Cleanings: You must see a dental hygienist every 6 months. They have specialized instruments designed down to clean implants without scratching the titanium, and they will take X-rays to ensure the bone levels perfectly holding your six implants remain stable and healthy.
